Mediation

Mediation is a consensual dispute resolution process by which a neutral mediator guides discussions and assists the parties in reaching an agreement.  Mediation differs from other forms of dispute resolution such as litigation or arbitration, in which a third party, either a jury, judge or arbitrator, hears the arguments of both parties and makes a decision on the outcome.  Mediation provides a more efficient and often less time consuming and less expensive alternative to trial or arbitration.
